When we came up with the Tiki bar CNC project idea we always felt it would end up in a basement bar or on a pool side sign... but never on something like this!

``Here is a cowboy cooler I made and I used the Tiki Bar project to customize ``

``I started out making one of the coolers for myself and people loved them. I have made around 6 of them and now I personalize the tops. So I used the tiki bar pattern to do mine.``

We don't think the Tiki mask has ever looked so cool... get it... because it`s on a cooler... yeah we know that was a stretch.

Kevin also sent us this wonderfully painted sign he made using the Wine Bar No.1 Project.  Nice job!

Both of Kevin projects look so good... and the cooler just makes us want to head out onto the back deck and enjoy a cold drink. There goes the productivity for today... thanks Kevin.

We are always touched when someone creates something special for a family member or friend using one of our CNC projects.  Something that will be cherished for a lifetime, given at a very special moment.  We never thought one of our halloween projects would show up at a wedding... but.. it has and it`s has never looked so good!

"Test run for ring box for my daughter’s wedding. She is having a Halloween theme``

Test Box

Finished boxes

``The finished ring boxes designed from Halloween 2. The slots for the rings will be cut when I have the correct size.``

Graham has also created this skull box using the same project.  Love the way the bottom fits... looks great!

``I have sourced some 150 year old silver pine used as mine props during the West Coast gold rush. I enclose another job I did with it to show the beautiful finish possible with this ancient wood.``

``I am using a home built router running chain drive with a footprint of about 27x27 inches ( I am old enough to think in imperial) Mach3, VCarve Pro, Cut3D, PhotoVCarve and a couple of others to help me create my own STLs``

Two great projects and that wood.... looks so great!!

Hack of the Week No.65

A little early holiday inspiration for you.  It's never too soon to get a gift or two out of the way before the snow arrives.  Maybe even get a few pieces ready for that holiday craft show marketing piece.

This "Joy" door sign was created using models from these projects:

The fonts we used to simulate the v-carving on this layout are called:  Sitka Banner and CloisterBlack BT

Note - This hack was assembled in Aspire V8 for presentation purposes.  It could have been done in VCarve Pro V8 or VCarve Desktop.

A Little Something Extra

We have included a screen grab to help you if you would like to recreate this layout or something close.  This layout and component tree would be the same in VCarve Pro V8, VCarve Desktop and Aspire V8.

Why not hack together your own layout mixing and matching models from other projects or from your own library!  For some great inspiration check out our  hacks page!
