Hack of the Week No.62

Summer time is here and those of you with dogs know it can sometimes be hard to find a good "puppy" sitter.  Might be time to look for a good kennel... maybe?

This "Dog Kennel" sign layout was created using models from these projects:

Paw Print - Free vector outline available on the Furry Friends No.1 CNC project page.

The font we used to simulate the v-carving on this layout is call:  Kristen ITC

Note - This hack was assembled in Aspire V8 for presentation purposes.  It could have been done in VCarve Pro V8 or VCarve Desktop.

Carl and Don just keep hacking around!

These Weekend CNC Warriors seem to really enjoy project hacking and keep sending in their very inspirational hack ideas.  Some of these hack will become finished pieces and some have been hacked together just for fun.

Layout for a stool.

Carl was inspired by the Let's Ride No.1 project and felt it would make for a great start to a steampunk hack.  He added in a bit of raised text and a gear using his CarveWright software.

Looking good Carl!

Don Harding

This is a fun one... using the On the Lake Cottage Sign project.  Still a work in progress but it's a great start!

Don keeps on hacking, not only to help build his layout skills but also for inspiration.

These hacks are a few he printed out and hung in his shop to keep the creative juices flowing!

This is one of his hacks that made it to a finished piece.  We love the way he used the round circle shape from the Mother's Garden No.1 project and the pan head motor from the Let's Ride No.1 project!

Keep those hacks coming Don!

Rénald Delisle is now "Weekend CNC Warrior" Approved!

Rénald Delisle sent us in a wonderfully finished cottage sign he made using the Loonie Cottage Sign CNC Project.  He used pine and then had it hand painted to give it a very nice look!

"The engraving has the dimension 30 inch long by 16 inch high. It is engraved and painted the 2 sides (duplex). I used the watercolor trying to respect the natural colors of the loons."

"I dyed the sign and I painted the names of people. Loons were painted by a lady who paints. She used to paint with water."

"It was engraved on a CNC I made myself from plans that I do."

WOW... and he make plans for CNC Machines!!!  Nice!

Thank you Rénald for sharing this project with us!
