Hack of the Week No.27

The great thing about our mini-projects is that you can mix and match the models or add in your own.

Our weekly mini-project hack uses models from 2 or more mini-projects.

This weeks hack was inspired by a piece Suzanne Ramsay (one of our Weekend CNC Warriors) made with our Home for the Holidays No.2 mini-project.

Suzanne hacked this one together using the Home for the Holidays No.2 mini-project and a model from her library.

Our candle holder layout was created using models from these mini-projects:

The font we used to simulate the v-carving on the sign is called:

  • Century

Pretty amazing what you can hack together with our mini-projects!   Thanks again Suzanne for the inspiration!

The holiday season is getting very, very close!

Is just about the right time to get making those special gifts that will, without a doubt, become family heirlooms.

Intruding our new mini-project
Home for the Holidays No.2

With the holiday season starting in just a few weeks we felt it was a good time to get you inspired to make some nice pillar candle trivets for your house or to give away as the perfect gifts.  Given a natural finish or a wonderful light stain these will be cherished for years to come.

This mini-project has 8... yep.. 8 model included in it.  It is geared to the upcoming holiday but don't let that limit you.  Using the holly certainly speaks to the Christmas season but v-carving some inspirational words on the ribbons give it an all year around use.

You might even consider adding (or hacking on) a model from another mini-project or using something from your clip-art library to fit just about any occasion you can think of.  How about a wedding or anniversary gift?  Housewarming or new apartment party?

This mini-project is packed full with 8 models:

  • Round Trivet
  • Square Trivet
  • Round Ribbon No.1
  • Square Ribbon No.1
  • Ribbon No.8
  • Ribbon No.9
  • Holly Sprig No.1
  • Holly Leaf No.1

All 8 for just $25.00!

Boo! Did we get ya? If not... this will!

It's that time of year to start thinking about Christmas... no, no... Halloween! Yeah that's the one.  Fall is here and the leaves are turning color.  Soon it will be time to break out the old spooky decorations and think... "These are looking pretty sad.".  If you have a CNC we have made it super easy to create some new ones that will last a heck of a lot longer then the ones you can pick up at your local dollar store (now that's scary!).

Introducing our Halloween No.2 mini-project!

We have included 3 models that will be sure to inspire you to create something pretty ghoulish

  • Skull
  • Bony Hand
  • Tombstone

On top of that we have 3 more models that are perfect for any costume party or dress-up event!

  • Top Hat
  • Masquerade Mask
  • Marquee Sign

Could there be anything more scary then that??? Ohhhhh yes.  We wanted to give you the ability to create the cracks in your project like we have simulated in the rendering above.

A little treat for you!

On the project page you can dig up a link to download these 4 free DXF crack vectors.

They are super easy to use and have been created so that the result from v-carving will be so spooky that you'll think they're real!

So does this new mini-project not scare up some pretty fun ideas?!  What are you waiting for?  This mini-project is a treat... and there is no trick involved...
