"What you call a hero,
I call just doing my job."

Local heroes are the people that work and live in the communities we call home.  They put their lives on the line, rise above and beyond in a time of need, give their time to a cause to make our lives better or are just good people willing to help when they are needed.  Some doing it and not even knowing the positive impact they are having on a life. Our collection of "Local Hero" focuses on these people.

This project celebrates our local or big city firefighters.  Firefighters are one of the cornerstones of the communities we all live in.  In so many ways they are here to help and make our lives safer: teaching, fundraising, contributing, being role models and keeping us safe.  Every city and town has a fire station filled with men and woman, paid or volunteer, that are willing to step up when needed and be there when we least expect it... now that's a local hero!

We have designed a few neat features into this mini-project that will make it even easier to use and re-use.  These features include:
- Maltese cross sign shape and banner that accepts v-carving or even the addition of raised text.
Sign shape has a flat bottomed dished center so it will except almost any model and will also let you get the most "Z" depth out of the added model.

"The hero is commonly the simplest and obscurest of men (and women).
~Henry David Thoreau"
