Tony Duderewicz's Welcome Sign!

Nothing pairs better with Family and Friends than a good bottle wine or a great looking welcome sign!

"Welcome Family & Friends"

"Here is a welcome sign I did out of maple with a English chestnut stain. Used the models from Wine Bar #1, and the font is called "Lobster 1.4". I used V-Carve Pro from Vectric to design it."

Tony also used the heart from free Heat and Ribbon Getting Started project.  Pocketing around the models give the sign a great old wine cellar look!  This layout could be easily customized for all sorts of uses.  How about a wedding gift, cellar sign or maybe even an anniversary gift.

Thanks Tony for the great inspiration and taking the time to share your finished project with us!

Customer Focus - Ian Martin

Ian Martin has taken one of our most popular projects (Home for the Holidays No.2) and created a multifunctional centerpiece.   His layout looks great for the holidays but could be modified for lots of other events!

"I made it as a hostess gift.  It's cherry with just a simple shellac & poly finish."

Finished Candle Holder

"I used Aspire, and carved on my Shark HD2 Pro.  Adding a second finish pass using a 1/16th ball nose cleaned it up nicely.  Dremel tool with sanding disks for a quick sanding.  It was used with 3 candles for a few nights and also with just 1 candle and condiment dishes in the outside holders."

Excellent idea to use the left and right candle sockets as a space to hold a candy or condiment dish.

"Family & Friends - Happiness"

Ian's layout could be easily modified for almost any occasion.  Use the names of a newlywed couple for a great wedding gift or maybe create a house-warming gift for a new homeowner.  Even better remove the holly and berries and hack in leaves, from the Thanksgiving No.2 CNC project, to create a fall centerpiece!  Lots of options!!!

Customer Focus - Vandy Harper

Our Around the World - USA CNC project has been a great hit with our customers.  It is just amazing to see a project like this catch on and see what kind of projects are being made with it.   Vandy Harper created a fantastic finished piece that we are sure you all will appreciate.

Look at the detail and finish!!!  Nice!

"The flag was made with poplar and the eagle was made with afromosa. I routed out the flag so the eagle would fit in the groove."

It sounds like Vandy may have pocketed out a flat area on the flag to accept the eagle.  It looks like it fit in just perfect and the use of the two different woods realy makes the eagle stand out from the flag.  Great choice!

Image for scale... wow!

Vandy sent in a picture to illustrate just how big the finished carving is.  As you can see it is very impactful and is stunning on the wall.

"It's 36" wide and 32" high. It has a walnut stain with 5 coats of polyurethane. "

The coats of polyurethane make for a smooth finish that catches the light and adds to the piece.

"It took about 12 hours to carve the flag and about 11 hours to carve the eagle"

That may seem like a long time on the machine but for such a large piece and the detail that was kept from the original models, it sure paid off.

Thank you Vandy for taking the time to share your finished project with us!
